Melting Crayons!

                                                                Melting Crayons Tutorial:

My daughter has this thing when she gets new crayons she starts ripping off the paper and breaks them in half! I'm like no! lol so i had a bunch of crayons broken and I'm like i don know what to do! i remember when i was little my daddy took all our crayons one day and melted them down and gave us totally new crayons! so i did a bit of research before i dived in and came up with this !

You need the double boiler method.. water in a pan and then like an old glass cup that you don't want or you don't like!

you also need a mold! and some old crayons!!
i used a toy mold from my daughter!

let the water simmer and put the crayons in!

the crayons are already melting!

see all melted! hurry before it starts getting hard again! Don't touch the glass with your hands ! its super hot! i just used my husbands tool!

and pour it into your mold!

wait a little, let it harden a little on the top before you put it in the freezer! i put it in there for five minutes!

and see you get your pretty crayon!

here is my tester! she loves it! and she cant break it! yay! lol

and i went a head and did some more!

look at the mess!! lol

here are the crayons i made!!

hope you enjoyed the tutorial!

Homemade Exfoliation Tutorial!

So i love everything handmade! and i like to know whats in the things i buy! this exfoliation is very simple with only three ingredients! but its very effective! my husbands loves it shhhh don't tell him i told you! :) but anyway! i use it once a week... i read somewhere before if you exfoliate to much you will start taking away the live cells on your skin... and when you exfoliate you only want to take off the dead skin cells... makes sense right!
so here we go:

- sugar
- vegetable or olive oil
(preferably olive oil but this is what i had on hand)
- baking soda

put them all together... I'm not a big measurement person so i just put in enough to make me and my husband some! then you put it on your face... the sugar is going to scratch a little but don worry.. i think it feels good... keep rubbing all over your face! and rinse off with some warm water! and your all done!
simple but effective!

thanks for reading!
hope you all enjoy it!
God Bless

Baking today not Crafting !

today we baked! not crafted! well who knows? we will probably do some crafts tonight or later on today! we made a puerto rican desert! (yes I'm puerto rican!) and its a desert that we usually make around Christmas time... but i really wanted some so we made them! plus my hubby loves them! :) Ari, my daughter, loves them too!
sugar 1/2 cup
shortening 1/2 cup
butter 1/2 cup
egg yolk 1
vanilla 1 tsp
almond extract 1 1/2 tsp
flour 2 1/4 cups
mix in sugar, shortening, butter, and yolk, vanilla, and almond
mix well, and it should look like this! nice and whipped!
after all that you add the flour in and use your hands to knead through it.
the dough should look like this!
put them on tin foil roll them into balls and poke little holes like my daughter is doing!
she def loved this part!
after you make them you probably have some left overs, i just put it in some tin foil and put it in the freezer til next time!
now put it in the oven! 350* for 15-20 min

now there done! yay! time to eat!
